چکیده

Posterior reversible encephalopathy syndrome (PRES) was first identified in 1996, and is typically caused by acute hypertension, renal decompensation, fluid retention, and treatment with immunosuppressants. Predisposing conditions include hypertension, eclampsia, autoimmune disease, leukemia, non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL), Idiopathic Thrombocytopenic Purpura (ITP), and Thrombotic Thrombocytopenic Purpura (TTP). Rituximab has been reported in association with PRES in neuromyelitis optica (NMO), hepatis C, and NHL but not to our knowledge in a patient with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma (HL) or ITP. We present a case of PRES in a patient with HL in remission who received rituximab for suspected ITP.

Posterior reversible Leukoencephalopathy following thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura at postpartum period: case report

Background: Posterior reversible leukoencephalopathy syndrome (PRLS) is a clinical and radiological syndrome of heterogeneous etiologies that are grouped because of the similar findings on neuroimaging studies which may occur at any age. The pathogenesis of RPLS remains unclear, but it appears to be related to disordered cerebral autoregulation and endothelial dysfunction. The syndrome is more ...

Thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura with concomitant small- and large-vessel thrombosis, atypical posterior reversible encephalopathy syndrome and cerebral microbleeds

We report a case of thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura (TTP) with uncommon imaging features, namely concomitant small- and large-vessel thrombosis, atypical locations of posterior reversible encephalopathy syndrome (PRES) and microbleeds. A 58-year-old Chinese woman presented with slurred speech and multiple petechiae over lower limbs. Blood tests showed thrombocytopenia. Neuroimaging showed m...

Range Determination of Antigen Expression in Myeloid, Erythroid and Lymphoid Cell Lineages among Patients with Myelodysplastic Syndrome

Background: Myelodysplastic syndrome is a mixed clonal disorder of bone marrow progenitor cells. Understanding the pattern of the different lineage-specific, immature, and mature markers in myelodysplastic syndrome will help in setting-up the frame of reference to diagnose. Patients and Methods: We compared 60 bone marrow samples from 30 newly-diagnosed patients with myelodysplastic syndrome ...
